This is a 1960 Prince Skyline sitting in my work neighborhood. A 93-year-old lady has owned it since new. She stopped driving it when parts became to expensive back in the 70s. Interesting how the fender rusted like a lot of old Datsuns did.

Is there a market for such a rare, early Japanese car?

It's interesting to note that the WWII Zero was manufactured by the !!!error: Indecipherable SUB-paragraph formatting!!! , which became Fuji Precisions Machinery Co.

I would give it a home. Probably not worth too much but it looks complete! Cool find!

Ugly and underpowered, expensive and rare. Is that why you never see old Toyotas?

If there price was right (i.e. very very cheap) I would love to buy one of these and restore it. I'm sure parts could be sourced from Japan fairly easily, although likely giving your wallet a beating too.

Super neat find. Were these sold the US back in the day and then they stopped? Or Just imported by the owner before all the regulations? I'm sure if fixed up right it'll be worth something, someday, based on rarity alone.

Also, its interesting how Japanese cars were pretty close knock offs of european/american cars until the manufacturers "found themselves"....sort of like Kia and Hyundai of not so long ago (5 minutes ago?) and a lot of Chinese manufacturers today.

For example, an old Austin Cambridge...there are probably another dozen European and American cars from the same era that you can see design cues from.

Funny story, I met a guy who has 3 JDM spec 90's R32s. He has one pushing 1900HP just for racing. He has two Silvias, also in storage.

Something about knowing someone with an import license, and having too much time on his hands.

Wow, that's really interesting. Someone needs to buy it and bring it back to life - such a unique car, I'm sure it's got quite a story.

I know this is a long shot but I am wondering if you can point me in the location of this vehicle. I owned one but had to sell if for financial reasons. I have been searching for a while. This one is a bit more rusty than mine. I can provide an email.

Thanks

The old lady is very nice, she’s really old. I think she would be willing to sell. The car is complete.
